Is Altruism Really Sociopathic?

An altruistic act is an act which takes some account of the interests of somebody other than the actor. As defined that way, it might sound just like not being sociopathic. And you might wonder why there's so much debate about it. I think to understand why it's become such an issue, probably is useful to take a bit more historical context. It's really in the democratic bourgeois revolution that we first get a notion of a fundamental conflict between levels of organization.
