The number one motivator is the avoidance of discomfort. The brain requires so much energy that the brain feels it is threatened when we're going to do something that's uncomfortable. When a boxer puts a date on the calendar, the boxer becomes very motivated to train because he doesn't want to get his ass kicked in a fight coming up in 90 days. If you think you're just going to be motivated, nobody's motivated, very rare. You discipline.
