Is the NHS Going to Face a Real Cut?
If the NHS does face a real term cut, i.e. it's simply not compensated for the effect of inflation, then in that case we are going to face increased pressure right the way across the system. So anything happens, a bad flu, NHS is really worried about this winter and we've got no room in our system to cope. Is this positioned the same as far as you know for the other home nations? Well, so the underlying challenges are the same for the otherhome nations. Everyone is squeezed between rising input costs from pay and inflation and then Covid not going away.
