Why We're Not Comparing Apples to Apples

We're not seeing the overall structure of how we are thinking about spending money and paying for things. When it comes to spending, spending has different consequences. If i spend money on my son's education, i expect to have a different consequence than if i spend that money on a restaurant. They both go into e economy, but in different ways. And because of the the very short term way in which we look at the long term consequences of this spending, we're not looking at the sort of return on investment. We don't have a good way of looking at the return on this investment.
