The Dobler Effect
The dobler effect is the idea that if you hear a siren driving you, it will sort of change in pitch as it fos away from you. And we can use that to estimate how far it is, because we know how fast the signal is travelling. But what about all the other objects which might be zooming around them, potentially with disastrous consequences? That's something another one of our listeners has been wondering about.
