CHAPTER

The Power of Language in Shapeing Our Experience of the World

I'm really passionate about autistic people telling their own stories and being the authors of their own narrative, their own stories. And I think part of encouraging that and bringing that to the fore is autistic people are then able to describe their experience in their own language. That can make it easier for someone else to relate, et cetera. The idea of a non-speaking autistic person not being scary or weird is getting better. It would be fantastic if next time they do love them on the spectrum or, you know, you can't ask that.
