The Effects of the Menstrual Cycle on Hemoglobin Levels

I did a deep dive on the scientific literature this morning. I actually didn't know the answer to this question. It's how does the menstrual cycle itself impact iron levels? And it was fascinating. There's not necessarily conclusive findings out there. But what has kind of been thought is that, so in the luteal phase, before you get your period, that's typically when athletes have higher ferritin, hemoglobin, and matter-crit readings.
