Is There a Like Individuality Complex on the Internet?
I wrote an essay recently called micro individuality that was like a lot about this basically just that I think it's really interesting how Individual uniqueness on the internet behaves a lot like how products are sold under capitalism. Like for instance if you look at a chip aisle You will see like a million different options for products that are almost identical But everyone has more of a like individual individuality complex than ever and to me I feel like a big part of that is because like the internet has exacerbated The feeling of like selling yourself as a product So we feel the need to distinguish ourselves to be sold as products but also conform to these wider like community standards, you know? We are all just kind of like avatars
