The Left's Fear of Islam

I really couldn't understand how the left could be so pro-Islam and not acknowledge that Islam is a worldview that is utterly opposed to yours in every particular. I mean, they're illiberal. They don't talk about universal human rights. And anybody whose opinion I care about knows these words are meaningless. If you're called a racist today, that doesn't matter. There was a time when that might have hurt you, but that does not matter. But academia is different. At this point, there's a huge number of Americans who just roll their eyes and say, okay, so you're just a normal person then.
