Bill Russell - A Civil Rights Leader Through the 60s
Bill Russell worked with Medgar Evers' brother to organize a basketball camp for black and white kids in Jackson, Mississippi. Condorface Harshaw taught at McClemmons High School the high school he attended in West Oakland. At the 1968 Olympics, two black American runners won the Golden Bronze medals for the 200-meter sprint. Both raised their fists in the black power salute as they stood on the winner's podium.
