lycinius was born to peasant stock in the mid two 60s a d. He became friends with galeriu at an early age, and served on his staff as a highly trusted adviser. When diocletian gave his bless he elevated lycinius to the purple in three o eight. And despite the fact that his presence in the imperial college was annoying as all get out to everyone but galarius, he managed to deftly manoeuvre around the myriad political land mines of the early fourth century. After six teen years before finally being blown up by constantine - i give you a little thumb nail sketch of lycinius pre imperial life.
