First Steps at Laetoli
Origin Stories
Introduction
Dr. Ellison McNutt is a biological anthropologist and comparative anatomist at the Ohio University Heritage College of osteopathic medicine. She used applesauce or maple syrup to bribe baby bears into walking through mud in an attempt to find out how they walk. The Laitoli footprints are fossilized prints left by creatures ranging from millipedes to elephants that date back more than three million years.
