The Bilateral Investment Treaties of South Africa
In the mid 1990s, companies which have mining rights in South Africa were pushed back by Italian investors. They said 26% of management or ownership needs to be in the hands of black South Africans. The whole case was kept really quiet by the South African government because they didn't want to incentivize other companies to do it. It's a hugely secretive and quietly done system that is enshrined in bilateral investment treaties around the world.
