June was the hottest month on record globally, and now scientists think that July will beat that record. They say that heat waves will become more frequent and more intense as the overall temperature of the globe gets hotter. A whole range of industries are trying to figure out how to adapt and change the way they do business. FT climate correspondent attractive Mooney recently wrote about this.

The Bank of Japan announced that it’s going to allow bonds to rise more freely, and China’s politburo has signalled several target measures meant to boost the country’s economy. Plus, the FT’s Attracta Mooney explains how more frequent heat waves will impact several different industries and the economy as a whole.
