Bob Greene: I've been writing my blog since 2011. And this is really the first storm that we've had in that time. One of the things I've wondered is whether people could read what I've written about needing to expect bear markets and assess their own risk tolerance beforehand. He says based on comments he's gotten, about two thirds have absorbed the message; another third didn't understand themselves as thoroughly or well enough. Greene: Maybe they'll have to live through it and sell out at the bottom and watch it recover without them to learn the lesson.
