The Dead Monarch Smell
Every winter, the super generation of monarchs fly 2,000 miles from Canada to Mexico. They make it about as far as Texas before they are exhausted and beat up. Back in Washington, DC, there is a little garden set aside just for monarchs. After all that, this eight month old super generation is rewarded by hitting its long delayed butterfly puberty.
