How to Write a Niche Topic That's Relevant to a Specific Number of People

If i spend a bunch of time writing a super niche topic, and then my expectations are that it's going to go and become this massive main stream viral hit, i'm setting myself up for failure. You're starting with a fundamentally smaller audience, because your question is only relevant to a certain number of people. Where you see topics really take off, or where you see these viral hits emerge, is when people answer universal questions. So part of the name of the game is understanding that you're starting with the end in mind, and yet finding a way to make the broad relevant to the nich.
