Schooling in Aztec Society

The Codex Mendoza details the life of an Aztec child between 12 and 15. The house of song was a place where children learned songs dances and music with which everyone needed to be familiar. Schooling normally took place in the house of youth who were primarily concerned with preparing their charges for war. Students engaged in extensive military training and even participation in real battles on occasion as hasic has explained beyond greater numbers the Aztecs also had a fully professional core of soldiers due to formal education system.
