The most common vulnerabilities have grown in the space or have changed with time. The bugs that start appearing, they are more complex and tend to require you to deeply, very deeply understand the code. You really need to train that muscle of deeply understanding something and also just having the creativity to think without developer assumptions thinking how can I jump into this weird state even if they think it is not possible? It's got to be like a lot of differential factors involved.
