Every night in Europe you could hear these weird gongs, some lights, some church bells out of tune. Simon Mason discovered the numbers in much the same way I did. Five months after the Berlin Wall fell, the con station went off the air forever. By and large, a lot of the big players in the Cold War era have gone now.
