The Left Hemisphere Jumps to Conclusions
The left hemisphere, as people used to think, is unemotional. And the emotions it is particularly responsible for are anger and disgust. It also goes with a sense of self righteousness. When things have been pointed out to it that it gets wrong, or it has' hasn't been able to do them, it will flatly deny that there is any problem because it is always right. So when people are immutable in their attachment to an idea, are angry and self righteous about it,. disparaged and disgusted by anybody who can disagree with them. For me, as a neuro scientist and as a psychiatrist, that is alarm bells. These people are going somewhere we do not want to follow
