How to Make a Self Growing Habitat

Self growing habitats are likely to vary a lot in purpose, independence and variety. This could result in a lot of strange options, especially if it was allowed access to some open source colonial equipment and ism data base. But having actual humans on sight guiding these decisions or implementing them is no sort of barrier to weard developments either. It seems almost inevitably that we will be wanting to develop these sorts of self growing habitats to get out there in space.
