The Analytical Engine Is a Universal Simulator

Babbage and lovelace also thought about one application of universal computers that has not been achieved to this day, namely so called artificial intelligence. But another import application they did foresee was making scientific predictions. The analytical engine would be a universal simulator, able to predict the behavior to any desired accuracy of any physical object given the relevant laws of physics. This is the universality that i mentioned in chapter three,. through which physical objects that are unlike each other and dominated by differet laws of physics can exhibit the same mathematical relationships.
