Understanding the Linux Kernel Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel allows various flags to be set for newly created pipe buffers. An attacker could potentially utilize the splice system call to transfer a page into a pipe and overwrite the data in the pipe buffer. The exploit then drains all of the data, leaving the pipe buff completely empty.
