The State of Disbelief Is Necessary

I don't know why it's the case that what i'm saying is so necessary, apparently, but it seems to be. And maybe that's an advantage to being der because i'm too old to adapt rapidly. I should be in a constant state of shock disbelief, because it keeps my head on straight. The fact that things have gone well for me, and that i'm still standing, which is also a miracle of sorts, you know. There are probably 30 different scandalous episodes that had every that anyone with any sense would have thought would finish me, and they've all backfired.
