Telegram's privacy policy states they will actually hand over data, but the transparency report is still empty since 2018. "Why are you going to trust this entity who can't even get their story straight about what data they hand over?" he asks. If you want to use Telegram as a social network, that's fine. But don't call it a private encrypted messenger. When the only thing that can be encrypted is one to one mobile chats.
