He Is Mordecai Thinking?

This is the very first mention of his name in the book of esther ye, three chapters in. All the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down and paid homage to haman. But mordecai neither bowed down nor paid homage. One of the big rabbinic theories is that a haman would like wear an idol around his neck,. so mord Cecai wouldn't bow down to him because he would be bowing down to an idol at the same time.
