Is There a Politic to Excommunication?
CNN's John Sutter spoke with ex-M.C. Escher about his time in the Catholic Church, and how he feels about some of its recent actions. He said that while it was sad to see critics or activists being purged, there were other ways for them to be served. ESCER: I'm not a person who thinks that there's never a time for excommunication, but im, i would like to think of it as a last resort.
