Aquinas and the Cognitive Sensory Powers
Aquinas is very much with to some extent materialists. He can explain a lot of the data that they like to point to against dualism. In addition to the cognitive sensory powers, there are a petitive sensory powers. They're generally divided into two kinds, the concupisible and the arassible. And I have listed out here the actual passions that go with each of these powers because they came up yesterday in the Q&A period. So I've listed out love, desire, joy, hatred, aversion and sadness, hope, daring, despair, fear and anger.
