Upton Sinclair - The Jungle of the Muckpacking Plant
Upton Sinclair was a breaking writer who went into the meatpacking plant undercover. He came out with a book called the Jungle, which detailed all the atrocities you'd seen there. It made him probably more responsible than anyone else for the federal meat inspection service and Food and Drug Administration. And he's also one of two Sinclair's who are among the most popular writers of that era in America.
