The enemy in the household is a new book by Greta Gergen. It explores how violence against family members can be used to justify killing others. In deuteronomy, there's an explicit emphasis on every member of the household being there when israel says we accept this covenant and will do it. The author also wants to know what life would have been like for women slaves in ancient households.
