Aquinas and Aristotle

Aristotle came on the scene through translations by Persian and Islamic scholars. They thought this is new, Aristotle is marvelous, we must do something about him. But he was three or four hundred years before Christ, therefore officially a pagan. Aquinas set himself the task of trying to make it work in to the Catholic faith while still having a real serious reverence for Aristotelian ideas.
