New Coal Expansion in China Is a Big Deal
China aims for non fossil fuel sources to account for 80 % of the energy mixed by 20 60. To do this, they plan to begin reducing the use of coal in 20 26 and expect to reach a plateau of oil consumption before the end of the decade. However, china is also worried about a stable energy supply for its growing population. Last year when na faced a coal crunch that left a large portion of the country without power, which jeopardized lives and livelihoods.
