What Did the Rivers Study Show in Terms of Mortality?
Rivers Protocol had a lot of different interventions, but two of the big ones that I think it debated a lot are the CVP between 8 and 12 millimeters of mercury. Those measures were incorporated in the surviving sepsis protocol. Early goal directed therapy brought mortality down by about 16%. That gives you a number needed to treat of around 6.
