The Corinthian Rebellion of Pata Dia
The Corinthians sent 2000 total troops 1600 hoplites and 400 light infantry men to Pata dia under the command of Aristaeus. Included with these Corinthian volunteers were Peloponnesian mercenaries. The Corinthians did this unofficially because they knew that the Athenians under the treaty had every right to suppress a rebellion in their empire. If they officially sent their own forces they would have been guilty of breaking the treaty and thus provoking a larger war. Almost immediately after Athens left Macedon Perdicas backed out of his alliance with them and returned to helping the Pata dies.
