Economics seems immediately relevant in saa way that the more abstract, like philosophy of the nature of the state or rights or whatever, isn't. And it can be this really powerful tool, because then once you understand it, you can start seeing how all these things that people are doing to try to help aren't actually going to help. Once you get over the initial hump of them very intuitive, a lot of this becomes fairly intuitive until you get into the really complicated like experts level stuff.
