Stoicism is focused on self improvement, proper direction of the will and not being bothered by things that shouldn't bother you. A big part of stoicism is just excepting that there are all these things you cannot change in the world,. And death is a big one. By adopting this mentality towards death, seneca has fortified himself against the fear of it.
