The Relationship Between Local and Central Government

Kia ora Bernard: Why do you think it's so hard for councils and central government to achieve some of these things? Of course, that's the answer to that could take a couple of hours to unpack Bernard. You know, not the least of which being politics. Councils are basically, you know, lead by politicians. And the current system of politics doesn't necessarily always lead to long-term decisions including intergenerational elements in them. These are complex and gnarly issues that we're dealing with.
