Thelese was asked by barbecin to write about beethoven because it's 250 years as his birth. He chose a biography of george pogreen bridge tower, who is buried in peckham and whose name has faded from his grave. Thelese also wrote two poems about the great violinist - but he didn't feel particular kinship with him. And so i went to his letters, and i read six years of his letters.
