Berg's Violin Concerto
Berg's violin concerto was written in honor of the 18 year old Maron Gropius who had just recently passed away. Throughout the piece Berg, who did this much more often than Weber and Schoenberg, mixes a tonality in 12 tone music with tonal music. The last four notes of the row seem to be the least based on tonality, but they are probably the most profoundly tonal thing about the piece.
