CHAPTER

Is Google a Monopoly?

When you used to search for say the Egyptian revolution or Heather Ford on Google, Google would give you a long list of sources in which you might find more information. But in 2012, something really radical happened. And that was that Google presented a little fact box on the right hand side of the page when you searched for the Egyptian revolution and Heather Ford. It actually was presenting single facts about what you were searching for. These were presented in a way that looks really authoritative. A lot of these claims or statements are actually being sourced directly from Wikipedia. This technology is also being used to develop conversation agents in chat box and in smart speakers.
