The Importance of Anthropology in Financial Journalism
Anthropology has shaped the way that I saw the world in a way that I myself wasn't fully aware of. It instilled in me this instinctive reflex to look at things in a holistic way, looks bottom up. Rituals and symbols often define social boundaries and reveal people's worldview. And as it later turned out in the 2007 crash for worse, because so many of the problems that later caused the great financial crisis were on display in the rituals of that investment banking conference.
