The Effects of Fur on Upright Positivity in Hominins
Most mammals in the tropics aren't naked, they retain some fur cover. It turns out that exposing a naked skin surface is a problem because it creates more heat stress. But if you have an upright posture, there is a particular advantage in having a loss of fur cover over the torso and over the limbs. We need more protection from heat stress on the tops of our heads.
