Men in the Craft Beer Scene
There are traditionally assumed preferences based on what men and women can drink. Beer, hard spirits are seen as masculine drinks; wine is typically represented as feminine beverages. Men in the craft beer scene are accorded more flexibility when it comes to drinking styles that aren't necessarily coded as masculine. Female consumers are seen as problematic if they're going to drink something that people would expect to see a male consumer drinking such as very strong, very dark.
