There are good reasons why you would want a government to be in charge of a currency. Every currency requires its own network effects, and legal tender means that people have to accept it for the resolution of contractual agreement. Governments can also collect taxes in a currency. They pay their salaries in their currencies. And i wouldn't diminish the importance of that,. ecause one area where i disagree with a lot of other procrypto people is they want to throw away ten thousand years of history - or at least the last 50 years of it.
