The Importance of Close Relationships
Most white folks, I say most not all, have not experienced ethnic animosity in a way that affected them. Because of that, we can only engage it as a hypothetical or through close relationship with others. And because we live in a society where folks often live such segregated lives, sometimes for reasons they had nothing to do with choosing. That sort of closeness, that perspective can be hard to come by.
