The first edition of Bruce R. McConkie's Mormon doctrine is worth $500 a pop. The church and the way people approach talks and the way they write quote text all the time. So when you see that you're the 13th edition and the fourth printing, the text has been altered 13 times. It's very common. Why do book publishers do it that way? I have no idea. They've done it that way for a million years.
