Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time for your family to get together and eat turkey. The reason it's turkey, so we're going to get off on a more positive note. There are turkeys everywhere in North America. So it's probable that the early settlers were in fact turkey when they tried to celebrate Thanksgiving.
