The Unmade Horror Movie Night Skies - I Didn't Know That

The Unmade Horror movie Night Skies was supposed to be Spielberg's first film. In the script, there were several different aliens and one was like the leader. That aspect is what Spielberg lashed onto in the script. And he took that aspect and that's what eventually became E.T. with Melissa Mathis. Knights, Knights guys was based off of a true incident. The script is out there if you want to read it. It's kind of like a home invasion movie in some ways with small aliens.
