The Cost of Offshore Wind

The bigger the turbine, that's going to be another stress on the ability for a floating platform to carry it. The number of vessels big enough to install one of those 15 megawatt turbines, you can count them on your fingers and toes in the whole world. With new bigger turbines coming out every few years for offshore, the whole supply chain is exhausted. And there's even a fear that's cropping up that we don't fully understand what going bigger does to stress the components.
